Vanya and Polina are extraordinary twins: their parents waited eighteen years for them! Six months before their birth, due to the outbreak of war, their parents moved from the Luhansk region to Zaporizhzhia. The twins were born prematurely and spent the first months of their lives in the hospital.
Due to hydrocephalus, Ivan had a shunt system installed at one and a half months old. A few months later, it was discovered that the boy had grade IV sensorineural hearing loss. Later, another diagnosis was confirmed — cerebral palsy.
Polina has grade 3 scoliosis and some speech difficulties, but she studies at a regular school. Ivan attends the specialized children's center "Prometheus". Even with a cochlear implant and a hearing aid, he still cannot hear fully, so he works intensively on pronunciation and currently has a limited vocabulary. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, cutting shapes, and making crafts. Polina attends a basketball club.
Due to their health conditions, the children constantly require courses of physical therapy, massage, and visits to rehabilitation specialists. Classes in rehabilitation centers are aimed at strengthening back muscles, stretching, improving coordination and walking. For speech and comprehension development, Ivan and Polina also need regular sessions with a speech therapist and a hearing specialist. Each rehabilitation course brings positive results and gives their parents hope for a better future for their children.
Please support Ivan and Polina! Give them a chance to move one step closer to a healthy childhood!
