We are happy to let you know than in June two Happy Homes in Kalinovka will be officially transformed into family-type children’s homes. Those will be the first family-type children’s homes for disabled children. For us and for future parents/educators it is not only the chance to further improve the quality of life for these children, but also the additional responsibility.

Apart from a boiler and a water filter, we will definitely need transport to take children from family-type children’s homes, in particular to clinics, tours and concerts. The vehicle will also be needed to purchase the required food products for 18 children.

That is why we ask for your help and support in procuring a car. In a perfect world, we would need a special vehicle to transport disabled people, but so far the only vehicle of such type in Ukraine is the Bogdan bus, that is why we ask you to help us procure 8- or 9-seat vehicle which will be of vital necessity for the Happy Homes starting from June.

To procure such a vehicle, we will need at least 17,000 US dollars.

When we have our own vehicle in Kalinovka, children will be able to:

- attend healthcare facilities on a regular basis

- go on tours and visit concerts

- get the required food products, clothes and other goods in time.

So far, we are only able to transport our children on a minibus for UAH 2500 (90 US dollars), and using the orphanage bus is becoming too dangerous for children’s lives, but nobody wants to stay within four walls all the time, right?
