As part of the process of reforming children's homes in Ukraine, the placement of children in children's homes will cease. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Social Policy Oleh Koval, the press service of the Department of Information and Internal Policy of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reports.

"From 2020, children will not be placed in the children’s homes, the state and society will take all measures to preserve the possibility of living and raising a child with their parents and to help them in difficult life circumstances," Koval said.

According to him, children will be referred to a foster family or to the child's family homes only in an exceptional case.

Children will be able to live in their children's homes until 2023. By 2023, they will be replaced by palliative rehabilitation centers. These centers will assist all children, regardless of their social status and age.

As we reported earlier, 1,547 orphans and children deprived of parental care were adopted in Ukraine in the first 11 months of 2018. Another 4,904 children were taken to foster families.

Without our support, six-year-old Kira Kargieva will not be able to continue essential rehabilitation and corrective therapy sessions. Please help us raise funds for treatment and development of the girl!
