"Hello, I want to share my pain with you and ask for help from caring people.
My son is a long-awaited baby. I have gone through so many hardships before I finally got pregnant. Problems began on the term of 26 weeks; and I had to stay in bed for 2 months. Childbirth began at 36 weeks, and the labor was very accelerated. The baby was born weak, his lungs did not open, doctors did everything possible to make Mark breathe independently in the intensive care, and on the eleventh day the miracle happened. Then we were transferred to the neonatal pathology department of Zaporozhzhye Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital where we spent 3 weeks.
When Mark was six months, his illness was diagnosed as "brain abnormalities, spastic tetraparesis" and to make it worse, the ophthalmologist diagnosed "optic atrophy". As the doctor explained, the child would only respond to light, at best, he would distinguish shapes of people.
When Mark was 3 years old, his dad left our family, and I remained alone to fight for my son's health.
Now Mark is 6 years old. During this period we have undergone 3 rehabilitation courses in the Donetsk Regional Center of Professor Yevtushenko, 6 rehabilitation courses in the International Clinic of Rehabilitation in the city of Truskavets, 4 rehabilitation courses in “Lazurny” sanatorium in the city of Berdyansk where Mark had big mud (poultice) applications, underwater massage. As for Mark’s eye treatment, we have undergone 5 courses of electrostimulation of ophthalmic nerves in the "Excimer" ophthalmic clinic in Kiev. As a result, Mark is able to sit, walk when held by two hands and he learnt to say a few words, became more emotional, active and energetic boy.
On March 24th, Mark’s next trip to Truskavets is scheduled, the cost of sanatorium voucher is 8,420 hryvnyas (803 US dollars), this amount also includes bio correction treatment.
When seeing healthy kids running around the playground, it is very painful to realize that your child is limited in everything. I am no longer able to provide my son financially, that’s why I am asking you for help".
The family lives in Berdyansk city.
