From birth, Kira developed quite slowly, and at eighteen months old, she began showing signs of epileptic activity. After numerous examinations and consultations, doctors diagnosed her with a neurodevelopmental disorder, likely of genetic origin, and autism spectrum disorder.
Kira is now five years old. She enjoys swimming in the pool and jumping on the trampoline but feels uncomfortable at loud events. While Kira has caught up to her peers in physical development, she experiences delays in psycho-speech development. She barely speaks, partially understands spoken language, and only occasionally responds to her name. Kira fulfills simple household requests and prohibitions as she wishes, and if she feels pressured, she shows aggression towards herself and others.
Since she was one year old, Kira has been consistently working with a speech therapist, defectologist, remedial teacher, and rehabilitation specialist. She is mastering self-care skills and learning to follow instructions. She is trying to concentrate and control her emotions. This is a challenging journey, but her parents are already seeing positive changes in their daughter's behavior.
At the end of last year, we helped the family by funding a month-long rehabilitation course for Kira. However, she needs ongoing sessions, so we are now aiming to raise 24,800 Hryvnia (approximately 600 US dollars) for her next course. Please support Kira so she can continue to develop.
