We continue sharing stories about cultural and charitable events organized abroad by Ukrainians, including people originally from Zaporizhzhia.
Today we would like to tell you about the Sounds of Ukraine concert series featuring Ukrainian piano and chamber music, organized by Violina Petrychenko, who was born in Zaporizhzhia.
Violina Petrychenko is a well-known Ukrainian pianist, artistic director of the Sounds of Ukraine festival and of the “Barvinskyi Salon” concert series at the Lviv National Philharmonic. She consciously and consistently works with Ukrainian music, and works by Ukrainian composers are performed at every one of her concerts. Born in Zaporizhzhia, she studied in Kyiv, Weimar, Cologne, and Essen, and actively performs in Ukraine and across Europe.
The program combines Ukrainian and European music, highlighting cultural connections and artistic bridges. Thanks to her education and many years of concert activity in Germany, as well as her work in Ukraine as a soloist of the Lviv Philharmonic, Violina is actively engaged in both musical environments. This experience allows her to create a festival that reflects the current cultural situation in Ukraine while remaining close and understandable to European audiences.
The Sounds for Ukraine festival is a charity festival in support of Ukraine. Admission to all events is free, but the organizers are grateful for voluntary donations that are directed to help Ukrainian children. In particular, 800 euros from one of the concerts were donated to the Happy Child Charity Foundation for the treatment of seriously ill children from Zaporizhzhia.
You can learn the dates of upcoming concerts in Germany and reserve a place on the website: sounds-of-ukraine.de
We sincerely thank Violina for her work and support for children! We are also grateful to all Ukrainians abroad who organize similar events and help Ukraine during this difficult time.
