Stepan was born prematurely. The tiny boy weighed less than a kilogram and was not breathing on his own. Together with medics, he fought for his life, suffered pneumonia, convulsions and respiratory arrest. And only in the third month he finally went home.
Premature birth has caused a number of serious diseases, including cerebral palsy. Accepting the diagnosis of cerebral palsy was difficult for the boy's parents, because they always want to believe in a miracle. But when Stepan turned one year old, they already understood that massages and physical therapy were not enough, and began the difficult path of the boy's recovery.
Stepan is now five and a half years old. He attends various rehabilitation centers, regularly works with a special education teacher and a speech therapist, and continues his exercises at home with his mother. He can already sit on his own and climb down from the couch, and he loves stepping around while being supported by the hands. Stepan knows colors and numbers, and can say individual words and syllables. Like most children, he enjoys sweets. He also happily sings along to children's songs and loves swimming in the pool.
Parents are doing everything possible to ensure that Stepan learns to sit up and eat on his own. And they dream that their son will start walking. They say that they are not despairing. Because there is no time. But unfortunately, parental enthusiasm alone is not enough. Without our support, the family will not be able to cope.
Stepan needs classes with specialists 3-4 times a year. We are sure that the boy will please us with his achievements, he just needs a little help!
