Even before the war, 80 students who came to study from small towns and settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region lived in two dormitories of the Machine-Building College. With the beginning of military aggression, from April 2022, about 200 internally displaced persons were sent to the facility. They arrived from communities in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. Confused people, adults and children, with different habits and views on life, were forced to live under one roof. From the first days of their arrival, the issue of moral support and ensuring proper living conditions became important for the management of the institution. At that moment, the foundation got to know the institution better and joined in the implementation of providing basic living needs.

Thanks to the comprehensive support of the foundation from almost all over the world, over a year of war we were able to help the institution with more than 432,000 hryvnias! We started in April 2022 by purchasing food products (groceries, sugar, flour, milk). Later, it became possible to buy chicken meat, which, by the way, we continue to do to this day. We also bought three electric stoves and a freezer. After a series of massive shellings that led to a partial energy crisis in the city, we helped the institution with a generator.

And with the onset of cold weather, the issue of hot water availability became acute. After all, there was none there at all! So we turned to donors and were able to promptly purchase water heaters. Today we are pleased to announce that 12 water heaters have already been installed in the two dormitories! And the residents of both dormitories have the opportunity to wash with comfort and not be afraid of catching a cold.

The patriotic team of people gathered under one roof, of course, is looking forward to victory! And how much they want to return home already! And so as not to waste time, they decided to support our soldiers who are undergoing treatment. When an opportunity arises, they prepare lunches and various delicious treats. And together, as they say, it is better to beat the enemy! Therefore, the issue of equipping the kitchen space with kitchen exhaust hoods became acute. Said and done! Now 16 brand new exhaust hoods are already installed in the two dormitories. And the housewives also have a simple dream — a couple of meat grinders and at least one small dough-kneading machine. Because it is a bit difficult to knead large volumes of dough for delicious pies by hand.

During this difficult year, many once unfamiliar people have become closer to each other. New friends and new wards have appeared in the foundation. So, the work continues!
