The House of Faith, Hope and Love needs support!

November 14, 2022, 18:25 152 Author: Albert Pavlov helpus.org.ua A very important supported living project in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Home of Faith, Hope and Love has been operating in Ivano-Frankivsk region since 2019. This is a small house in which 4 people with disabilities live, who previously lived in a psychoneurological boarding school. This is one of the first such buildings in Ukraine, and probably the first that managed to attract state funding.

This is a very important precedent that can show what could lead to the start of government funding for small group homes for supported living in the future. This is a transition from large barrack-type institutions - psychoneurological boarding schools, to more comfortable houses with an atmosphere close to a family. Simply put, from keeping people with disabilities as a herd, we can provide comfortable conditions for such people with respect for individuality.

Every year, this house fights with officials for the right to receive at least some kind of funding. This is some kind of theater of the absurd, because living in a home is no more expensive than living in a state boarding school for these people. But some civil servants have their own logic, and despite the increase in prices this year, they only reduced housing financing.

And while the project leader Vasyl Futerko continues to defend the house in court, it is very important to support this unique project with regular donations to Paypal albert@deti.zp.ua or
