Donation and expense report for the project

Since 2024, we’ve been supporting Zaporizhzhia School No. 77 — helping not only to keep it running during the war, but also to create a comfortable environment for students, preschoolers, and staff. In times of air raids, the school also serves as the primary shelter for the entire neighborhood.

When we first got involved, the war had already been going on for more than two and a half years. Several basement classrooms were functioning in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person learning. Two rooms had been adapted for short-term preschool care. And the only shelter for local residents was a bare-bones space in a former boiler room.

Our support began with fuel for generators and other basic energy needs. We also installed doors between rooms in the shelter to reduce distractions during lessons.

Thanks to the support of Fieramente Srl (Italy) and other donors, we purchased materials for repairs. As a result, part of the previously unused basement was transformed into a new, comfortable preschool space — complete with a sleeping area, playroom, and even an interactive whiteboard.

But the space still wasn’t enough. So in spring 2025, together with the Ukrainian company Involve and several anonymous donors, we launched a large-scale reconstruction of the former boiler room. The work was extensive: new floors, walls, ceilings, openings between rooms, and even a porch with a ramp. And the cherry on top? Dozens of meters of old piping — some dismantled, others replaced and rerouted.

In just two months, we spent over $50,000 USD on reconstruction. Unexpectedly, we also had to renovate the kitchen, and after a drone attack — the bathroom as well. The pace of work is impressive, and we can already envision the final result. But the costs are rising and have exceeded our initial estimates — and there’s still a long way to go.

That’s why we’re asking for your support.

Together, we can build a safe and welcoming environment for children — allowing their parents to focus on work, strengthening the local community, and bringing us all closer to victory.
