During birth, little Alexei suffered from oxygen deprivation, which led to further health complications. At six months old, doctors suspected he had cerebral palsy, and later, the diagnosis was confirmed.
Now, Alexei is three years old. Every day is a challenge, but with hard work and small victories, he moves toward a better future. He regularly attends the Kozyavkin Rehabilitation Center several times a year and works hard at home with his mother.
Last year, he was only able to complete two rehabilitation courses at the clinic. By summer, his parents noticed that he was losing his progress—his leg muscle tone increased, and he stopped crawling and sitting. Only after the autumn rehabilitation course did his condition stabilize. The hypertonicity in his arms and legs decreased, and he could once again grasp objects, play with toys, and crawl.
Training with his mother brings Alexei great joy! He diligently repeats all the exercises, confidently points to body parts, and even shows where he feels pain. And he adores cats! Perhaps that’s why the first word he learned to say was "kitty".
Alexei is curious about everything! Every day, he makes small discoveries, learns new words, gestures, and movements. Doctors say this is an excellent indicator of his development.
However, to continue his progress, Alexei needs regular rehabilitation courses without long breaks. Covering the cost of four courses per year is extremely difficult for an ordinary family, especially during wartime.
The next rehabilitation course is planned for spring, and its cost is 25,311 UAН (approximately 615 US dollars).
Please become Alexei’s miracle worker and give him a chance for a healthy, happy childhood!
