"My day starts at 6:45. I make my bed and do breathing exercises. I can’t say I enjoy it, but it’s a necessary part of my daily routine because I have cystic fibrosis. After breakfast, I take my medication and do inhalation therapy. This is also an integral part of my life. After that, my day goes on like everyone else’s: I study at Boarding School No. 7, but from home, online. Through frequent air-raid alarms, I can’t go down to the basement like other children because the conditions there are unsuitable for me.

At 16:00, during a break from my studies, I do another round of inhalation therapy, then continue with homework. In the evening, after 18:00, I have dinner, take my medication, and do inhalations again.

Unfortunately, studying is challenging for me. Because of my illness, I often spend time in the hospital for examinations and treatment. Now, I’ve developed complications in the form of dermatitis, which adds to my burden with extra medications and time-consuming skincare routines.

I have a friend, but she lives in another district, so we don’t see each other often. We mostly stay in touch by phone. My parents have passed away. First, my mom after a long illness, and then my dad. Now my closest family is my aunt Tamara’s family. They love me very much and try to support me in everything. However, they rarely let me visit my friend because of frequent air-raid alarms and bombings. So, in my free time, I play ball or swing in the yard by myself.

But in general, we all dream of the war ending and going to the sea.

This is how things are for me." Ksyusha.

This is the story of Ksenia, our new ward. At the beginning of the year, our foundation helped her family establish her diagnosis by covering the cost of genetic testing, which amounted to over 16,000 UAH. Now, her aunt has asked for help again to cover Ksenia’s treatment. On top of her main diagnosis, cystic fibrosis, she has developed dermatitis. The treatment course lasts seven months. We have already provided the necessary medications for the first month, and she has started her treatment. For the remaining six months, we aim to raise 30,000 UAH (approximately $725). So, we ask you to join us!
