One step closer to the dream of walking

One step closer to the dream of walking

Throughout her eleven years of life, Alina has been grappling with cerebral palsy. This condition has caused her right leg to become shorter than the left and made her feet significantly deformed. Consequently, Alina could only dream of walking independently and relied on assistive devices known as "walkers" for mobility.

However, on the brink of the New Year, Alina underwent an orthopedic surgery. Together, we covered the expenses for the implant, totaling $954 USD, bringing Alina one step closer to her dream.

The surgical procedure, including preparation, lasted five hours. It involved an osteotomy of the right hip, plastic surgery on both knee joints, and the correction of her feet's position with specialized titanium screws. Subsequently, her legs were immobilized with plaster casts and orthotic devices.

One step closer to the dream of walking

Following the operation, Alina will remain bedridden for six weeks. This period will be followed by X-rays, consultations with medical professionals, and extensive rehabilitation.

Heartfelt thanks to each of you for contributing to Alina's journey toward realizing her dream! The remaining funds will be allocated for her ongoing rehabilitation.
