This diagnosis occurs in 1 to 20, 000 newborn infants. In the congenital form, the common bile duct between the liver and the small intestine is blocked or absent. The only chance for life in this case is to make artificial bile ducts or to undergo liver transplantation.
This tiny girl has to fight for her life in hospitals every single day. The recent MRT showed that Polina’s only possible way to survive is to have liver transplantation.
Although this complicated surgical procedure can be performed in Ukraine, Polina’s parents doubt that the rehabilitation period in Ukraine will go as smoothly and successfully as it usually goes abroad. Therefore, little Polina urgently needs treatment in the Belgian clinic that requires 87,000 euros or 118,139 US dollars. The three month rehabilitation period requires additionally 19,000 euros what is 25,800 US dollars.
Polina is currently with her parents at the Shalimov Institute in Kyiv (Ukraine) where her mom Anna is undergoing tests for being her daughter’s donor. As soon as the Ukrainian doctors make their conclusions and the Belgian clinic sends its final bill, Polina will finally be able to go abroad to have her life-saving operation. However, it will be possible on condition that warm-hearted people give their financial support to this lovely little princess.
The family has managed to raise around 50,000 hryvnyas (6,203 US dollars or 4,568 euros).
The young parents, Anna and Anatoly, are appealing to every one of you to give their little precious girl a chance for recovery!
