Photo report about trip of 9 orphans to the Black Sea, Crimea in June 2006

Usually children from the orphanages spend summer holidays in the government-sponsored camps on Azov Sea, where they often are bored, and olders offend younger children.

So we, volunteers, would like to organize trip of small group of orphans on the South Coast of Crimea peninsula, on the beauteful Black Sea. We often imagined: small tent's camp on the mountainside, reflection of the campfire on the children's faces, and children eyes, impressed by the beauty of surrounding World...

We couldn't to organize such trip in 2005 - sponsors for the trip was not found. But in summer 2006, thanks God, we have such sponsors, and 9 orphans of the orphanage #3 with 2 adults went to Crimea.

When our train arrive?!! (waiting on Zaporozhye railway station)

Finally! Go!

Unfortunately, we couldn't use tents - we had no tents, and, anyway, we just couldn't guarantee children's safety, because they had no experience living in tents. Children spent 6 days in the resort village near Feodosia. They lived in the good two-storey house, and had tasty nutrition.

They say, nutrition was very tasty

Our friends from Donetsk Christian Church (Alexander Prokopchuk and others) organized spare time for orphans - games, trips and lessons of Christian ethics. All children very liked this trip, despite of several rainy days. We think, children will remember such trip for the whole life.

It's clody, but surrounding places, sea and mountains are very scenic.

Finally sun appeared from the clouds...

We thanks all our sponsors, espesially Patrick Anderson (American military, who recently came back from Iraq). Patrick donated $500 for summer camp. Thanks to Alexander Prokopchuk and Donetsk Church for orginizing such camp.

Patrick, leave your army! Go to Ukraine and work as a tutor for orphans! :-)

Average costs for rent apartment and nutrition was about $11 per day on one person. It's not very high for Crimea. You can see full financial statement in the Gratitudes and reports section of our website - report on June 2006.

Thanks to Nadya Mochalova and Yura Gorev who processed all needed documents in Zaporozhye.

We hope, that in 2006 we with our sponsors will organize the real tent's camp near Alushta, Crimea, and make several interesting trips to other Crimean places. If you would like to sponsor such trip, please write us
