Medicines are needed in the hematology department!

March 1, 2023, 18:25 349 Author: Yana Lobanok deti.zp.ua Due to the war, there was a delay in the supply of some chemotherapy drugs.

Due to the war, there was a delay

In peacetime, the treatment of children with cancer was at the expense of the state. Of course, different situations and problems arose, but the department was more or less provided with drugs for chemotherapy.

During the war, the lives of children with cancer were in even greater danger - rocket attacks, Zaporozhye's proximity to the occupied territories, and the possibility of interruptions in the supply of medicines. Therefore, most families went abroad for treatment. But there are children who stayed and continue to be treated at Regional Children's Hospital.

Last week, the head of the Hematology Department approached us with a request to purchase the chemotherapy drug Doxorubicin. Usually, children receive the drug for free, but now it is not available in the department. The disease will not wait for the drug to appear in the hospital, so together with you we bought 10 bottles of Doxorubicin for two children, with a total cost of 203 $. Also, the department needs the drug Leukofosin (or Leucovorin-Teva), which is not available in pharmacies. Now we are looking for him.

Due to the war, interruptions in the supply of important medicines are possible in the future. Therefore, we ask you to support our Child Cancer Assistance Program. After all, when we have money on our account, we can quickly respond to requests from the hospital, as well as pay for CT and MRI examinations of seriously ill children.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who supports our work!
