In the intensive care unit of newborns of Zaporizhzhia Regional Children's Hospital, about twenty crumbs are nursed every month. Their age is from zero to three months. From the first days of life, for many of them, intravenous nutrition is the only way to obtain nutrients. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the patients of this department have two bottles of solutions, and on such a diet they need to gain the necessary weight in order to continue their full life and avoid the negative consequences of premature birth.
According to the laws of nature, these babies breathe, develop, and want to live. And they do not know that "Aminovena" and "Smoflipida" (special food for small children) are not enough for everyone. They are also unaware that they breathe and eat through special consumables - catheters for parenteral nutrition and breathing circuits that are connected to a ventilator. And this is only part of what is needed. There are many other special devices and consumables, without which not a single day of a baby's stay in the hospital is complete. Very often they end up in the department directly from the hospital, without their mother. Then the provision of the newborn with the necessary medicines and consumables falls either on the shoulders of someone close to the child or on the hospital itself. In such cases, the department turns to the fund with a request to help in purchasing the missing drugs or medical supplies.
Requests from the neonatal intensive care unit come in almost daily, and our emergency supplies are dwindling before our eyes. Friends, we can't cope without your participation! Support the foundation in its striving to help babies in the first days of their life!
