Tent Camp “Children’s Village – 2014” (photo report)

September 6, 2014, 21:30 116 Author: Olesya Kulakova www.deti.zp.ua The children’s tourist club “Klubok” organized a tent camp for 69 children from Zaporizhzhia region and internally displaced children from Donbas.

I love my job. When creating children’s events, I also have the opportunity to be part of them. In August 2014, the tourist project “Klubok” of the “Happy Child” Foundation organized a wonderful camp called “Children’s Village” for children aged 7 to 16.

During the first three days, the children stayed in the village of Ukrainka, Mykhailivskyi district, near the construction site of the future children’s village. The next three days were spent in a tent camp on the Arabat Spit near Henichesk.

The children actively participated in sports activities, demonstrated strong teamwork during the quest, and showed great creative enthusiasm while preparing and performing a concert. At the seaside, the kids were allowed a little mischief and even slept in sleeping bags right on the shore under the starry sky.

More than once I noticed how amazing our children are, and I am deeply touched by their ability to enjoy simple things. They are active, motivated young people eager to express themselves. Thank you to all of them for being organized and disciplined. The excellent counselors impressed us with their professionalism.

This summer was wonderful! But I am not sad that it has ended, because all good things eventually come to an end — and something even better follows. Stay tuned for announcements about our future plans!

We would like to sincerely thank:

- Roman P. from Zaporizhzhia and Natalia Sh. from Kyiv for financial support;

- counselors and volunteers Mykola, Kostia, Bohdan, Viacheslav from Mykhailivka; Marharyta, Tania, Yulia, Vitya, Liuda, and Maryna from Zaporizhzhia; Ania from Kyiv; and Lida from Donetsk;

- Head of the Liubymivka Village Council, Dmytro Andriiovych Sidelnykov, for providing a bus;

- Director of the “Henichesk” camping site, Viktor Volodymyrovych, for generous discounts, a free cabin, and a gas cylinder.

Without proper treatment, 17-year-old Tymofii Shatulskyi cannot control his serious illness.
Please, help raise funds for life-saving medication!

Here is feedback from one of our participants:

“Friends! How quickly time flew by at our camp! It was absolutely amazing!! For me, it was truly the happiest time of the summer! Every day was full of positive emotions and activities!! I came back completely recharged! I smile every time I remember how we welcomed sunrises right on the seashore. We fell asleep late at night! Stars in the sky and reflected in the water! I also remember the huge orange moon and how we gathered around the campfire on the beach that evening! And so many other unforgettable moments! Thank you to everyone who was with us! You are all wonderful! Keep it up!! See you again!”
