Feeding the children of the Zaporozhye City Children's General Hospital #5 is in danger

June 27, 2011, 8:00 3354 Author: Yana Sasina, translated by Natalya Palanitsya www.deti.zp.ua Our cooking boilers have worked for a very long time but finally two out of the three boilers have broken beyond repair

Our Deputy Chief Doctor of Technical Issues Yuri Prokopenko says they have been repaired so many times that they cannot be fixed this time.

The kitchen staff is afraid of touching the last working boiler as it’s still used for cooking of soups and dairy products. The sensors and the steam jacket of this unit do not function anymore.

If this third boiler fails the children will not have hot meals. The cooking staff can also be injured.

The Zaporozhye City Children's General Hospital #5 administration has many times requested the city authorities of the department for the health care of the children to replace this equipment.

The new unit will cost 18,500 hryvanyas (2, 310 US dollars). The hospital cannot collect the amount needed for this. Hospital management requests all the possible financial assistance to replace the equipment. The hospital staff also notes that the catering department needs a complete renovation. But, due to the lack of financial support from the officials the future of the Zaporozhye children having warm meals is in danger. Even a little financial assistance could provide the children a delicious lunch.
