At this stage, the operation to restore the spine has been postponed. The collected funds are used to conduct examinations of the girl.

=====================================

Anastasia, a smart girl previously filled with laughter and adorned with beautiful long hair, now blends into the typical style of the hematology ward. Here, resident girls have their own fashion - white or colored scarves - to brighten a slightly ashen look.

Just a few years ago, Anastasia had so many plans: learning to draw and continuing chess lessons so that she could advance from second place to first place in the district chess competitions and win many more contests beyond! Yes, she still keeps a friend nearby who is also smart to keep up endless serious conversations - a parrot!

But life seems to have its own plans. In the summer of 2017, she felt pain in her leg. As often happens, everyone thought that it would heal or be outgrown. But further examination found the cause of the disease was a tumor in the spine with a severe diagnosis: diffuse B-cell lymphoma.

Hospital walls, of course, do not inspire chess, especially when after lab workups, one tries to regain senses, and even the whole body is numb from a tight orthopedic corset. But, thank God, sometimes there is strength to smile back to a volunteer who distracts from the gray hospital walls and reminds that somewhere beyond, things are humming and someone's plans are being implemented.

In February 2018, Anastasia underwent an operation which removed most of the tumor, but intervertebral foci remain. Moreover, her L4 vertebra collapsed, so now the girl needs surgery to repair it. This operation is planned for the near future: as soon as her sixth round of chemotherapy and another examination are completed.

We all can help Anastasia in the implementation of her plans. Vertebroplasty to restore a damaged vertebra costs $670 USD (17,500 UAH). Mom and all of us have only two weeks to collect the money, but together we will succeed!

The family lives in the town of Mykhailivka, Zaporizka oblast.
