It’s been for more than 2 months that little Danil receives substitutive renal therapy - peritoneal dialysis. The operation for applying peritoneal catheter was performed in Minsk at Children’s clinical hospital N.2, the dialysis was prescribed there as well. After the operation little Danil lost weight a lot and he cannot succeed in gaining weight, as the substitutive therapy excretes proteins and other microelements badly and makes the organism exhausted.
The child’s stay in pediatric hospital ward makes over USD 50 per day, moreover there are respective costs for dialysis. Fortunately, administration of the hospital made a concession and the child can use a cycler – an apparatus that performs dialysis. Now he can get the treatment as an outpatient – he undergoes tests three times a week and visits a nephrologist. The parents connect the kid to the cycler every night. It makes the process considerably cheaper for them, they have to pay only for dialysis solutions and systems – UAH 18000—a month.
At the latest consultation with the doctor on 12.05.2016 the tests shown increase of uric oxide in blood – acidosis. It means the dialysis is not enough. The doctor modified the treatment program and prescribed medication for uric oxide decrease. Little Danil needs additional tests. And everybody hopes that the measures the doctor is taking will give a positive result. It’s been two weeks that vomiting persists and there is frequent urge to vomit and general weakness – these are common symptoms of acidosis.
The child needs kidney transplantation as soon as possible. Little Danil can join the line for donor organ only under the condition that 100% payment amounting to USD 60000 - is effected. Within the previous two months the family could collect only USD 696 -. We strongly hope that you could help!
