"What a cute boy," was my first thought when I saw Vladislav. And no matter how impartial I try to be, I always feel more attracted to cute kids and to good-looking adults.
Perhaps that is why I was always glad to accompany Vladislav wherever he wanted to go. Most often, he wanted to go and join the children who were playing on the new playground, which had a swing, a sandbox, and a merry-go-round - everything any child needs.
Of course, with time, I began to notice that, just like any cute boy, Vladislav takes advantage of it. He gets into mischief and then just grins as if he were innocent. And being harsh with him in order to get him to behave isn't going to work.
Even if he's the only one who took the trouble, when their group was visiting the mini-zoo, to climb into the raven's cage (and the raven, of course, pecked him for that). Even if Vladislav is one of the few children who manage, in just a few seconds, to discern whenever the visitor brings something interesting with them. He never steals, but he has to touch everything that's lying in plain sight, especially if it's sparkly.
He loves to look at picture books - he can point at the same picture many times in a row, until he gets tired of it. And he has a truly unlimited store of patience for things that interest him. For instance, he can spend hours putting a puzzle together. In general, all puzzles that are sent to the orphanage, always pass through his hands - that is, he is one of the few children to assemble every puzzle by himself.
Also, Vladislav loves attention. When he got sick, the teacher and the assistant teacher for the group of nine children had to stay by his side most of the time, because he constantly cried out with pain. And if at first they felt sincerely sorry for him, after some time, it became clear that he was crying out on purpose, so he wouldn't be left alone. Therefore, his future mother will have to be able to teach him to understand that he is loved just as much as other children.
Vladislav smiles at everyone he meets, he is always ready to take any visitor by the hand and to walk together. Perhaps, it will be you who will be able to bring him with you to a place where he could put together puzzles every day, play with birds, and not have to compete for adults' attention, because he will simply be able to always feel that he is loved just the way he is?
If you are interested in adopting Vladislav, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56. Request the Profile Number of Vladislav accordingly to the orphan list # #0057319.
Other children who dream of finding a family
If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
