Such children are called “teacher’s authorized representative” in their school. So Vitya is exactly like this. He appreciates his position very much, fulfills all commissions zealously. There is no use for other kids to compete with Victor.
It can hardly be said that Vitya doesn’t have his own opinion, but “the father’s” authority is absolutely indisputable.
We’ve seen such a scene: on a sports ground children are running, rolling, playing. Many of them are trying to draw our attention. A teacher from Vitya’s group proposed to line an area for playing hopscotch. Not just to line, but to make it long-lasting. How to do that? It is necessary to split cells with small grooves and to fill them up with light sand: this is the way to preserve “the net” for a long time, and the limits will be clearly visible. Children rushed to help all together, jumping on the unfinished construction. But Vitya is not like this. He was in earnest about the task: he worked quickly, regularly, unsparingly, carrying the bucket with sand almost the same size as himself, but he also arranged his classmates, giving reasonable tasks …
I tried to distract him, to talk. But he said categorically: “I’m not coming until I finish my job”. And he didn’t agree later: evidently, he understood, that if a family for him can be found, he will have to leave “the father”. His faithful heart didn’t like this idea …
But we know, that a father is better than “the father”, and a mother– is better than “the mother”. It would be great for Vitya to understand this from his own experience, wouldn’t it?
