A Child Needs a Family: Yana S. born in 1995

August 31, 2011, 11:00 3923 Author: Victoria Mochalova, translated by Daria Sukach www.deti.zp.ua Yana finished her school and now studies in college

Yana finished her school and now studies in college.

It’s not difficult to communicate with Yana. She is sincere and easy-going. She doesn’t take things too seriously and it takes little to cheer her up. This girl is full of energy and enjoys being in the center of events. Her teachers call her “an activist”.

Yana loves singing and dancing and she’s very good at it. Yana takes part in amateur art activities and is a member of the school band “Yunost” (“Youth”), with which she often goes on tours. She achieved good results at some local art competitions.

This girl can never sit in the same place: she loves having fun and outdoor games. She’s especially fond of hide-and-seek game. “Sometimes when everyone is tired, it bothers the girls that I would like to run a bit more”, confesses Yana. At the same time she’s considered to be a very responsible and a disciplined person. One can always rely on Yana. This girl is always ready to help and does her very best to support her friends. Besides, Yana likes beadery and believe me, this hobby requires great diligence!

Yana takes care of flowers

There’s only one year left till Yana’s school graduation. It’s hard to believe it since Yana seems to be so fragile and “childish”. She is aware of the fact that it’s time she started thinking of “a practical” profession which will enable her to stand on her own two feet. Yana hasn’t got a clue yet of what she would like to do in future …

Yana thinks that the orphanage has made her serious and if she lived in a family she would not study so well and would not feel like working. But one cannot really believe her words. It calls to mind the opinions of some adults who were severely punished in their childhood and now say “Well, I was beaten, but at least I became a good person”. I really hope that Yana will have an opportunity to realize that love and responsibility are not really incompatible and that there’s always a room for both in a family. Help this lively girl to understand it, please…

If you are interested in adopting Yana, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56. Request the Profile Number of Yana accordingly to the orphan list #0060325.

Other children who dream of finding a family

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
