A warm home for everyone

On the International Day of People with Disabilities, actions speak louder than words. We are delighted to share that, recently, significant progress has been made towards the opening of homes for orphans and people with disabilities in Shcherbynivka, Cherkasy region, thanks to the generosity of donors from the 'Helpus' and 'Happy Child' foundations.

Over the past week, the amount of assistance totaled about 300,000 hryvnias (8150 US dollars). We want to emphasize that we are actively working on three projects in the area:

- creation of a house of supported living for 4 people with mental disabilities house №7;

- repair and equipment of a house for a family of people with disabilities Vitaliy, Nataliya Bardysh and their daughter;

- equipment of an apartment for living in a family-type orphanage (DBST) of Lilia Timofeeva for 7 foster children in the former club;

We are pleased to announce that the Kyiv fund "Zaporuka" has extended invaluable support by procuring equipment for the heating system in two buildings. Additionally, the Zaporizhzhya Foundation "Happy Child" has made a significant contribution by acquiring household appliances for Lilia's DBST. The on-site coordination is managed by Serhiy Rajevskyi from the Shcherbynovsky Church, with collaboration from the Kyiv Foundation "Strumok."

In the past week, the following items were acquired:

- Two solid fuel boilers (allocated for building #7 and the Bardysh family).

- Chimneys of the sandwich type for the two boilers.

- 280 meters of pipes for the heating system.

- Induction stove, oven, dishwasher, towel dryers, freezer, and microwave oven for DBST Lilia Timofeeva.

- Toilet set for the Bardysh family.

- Bath for building #7.

- Metal doors for the boiler room and six interior doors, including fittings, for the Bardysh family and building #7.

- Three electric boilers.

- Two ceramic electric heaters.

- Two oil electric heaters and four towel dryers.

- Paint, putty, and other building materials."

A warm home for everyone

A warm home for everyone

We are thrilled to share the progress we've made, including the construction of a boiler house from scratch at building #7 and the installation of plasterboard in this building.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who has generously contributed, making it possible for us to develop essential infrastructure for people with disabilities and orphans.

As we continue our journey, we seek your support leading up to Christmas and the New Year. Here are our immediate needs and plans:

- Complete internal works in building #7, including plasterboard, electricity, tile installation, door installation, boiler and radiator setup, and puttying.

- Sheath the house with boards (covering labor and paint costs).

- Purchase or receive tiles as a gift.

- Obtain tiles, linoleum, interior paint, putty, lighting, lamps, refrigerator, microwave oven, washing machine, induction stove, TV, router, kitchen furniture, and upholstered furniture through purchase or donation.

- Install a boiler and heating system, and perform internal work in the Bardysh family's house.

- Purchase part of the kitchen furniture and a drying machine for DBST Timofeeva.
